Bubble cover: the cleaning steps
The bubble cover, in addition to warming the water of a pool, helps to keep the water clean by retaining most debris. Subjected to sometimes difficult conditions, we will explain in detail how to clean your cover in order to preserve it for a long time.
Bubble Cover Cleaning Guide
- Remove the cover from the pool
: Proceed with caution to avoid damaging it. It is recommended to have two people to facilitate this task. - Rinse with clean water
: Spread the cover on a clean and flat surface, such as your garden or a terrace. If possible, use a water jet to rinse the cover thoroughly and remove debris such as leaves and twigs. - Cleaning with a mild solution
: Prepare a cleaning solution by mixing warm water with mild soap (such as dish soap). Avoid abrasive cleaning products that could damage the cover. - Gentle brushing
: Use a soft-bristled brush or cloth to gently scrub the cover. Be particularly careful with the bubbles to avoid damaging them. Make sure to clean both sides of the cover. - Complete rinsing
: After washing, thoroughly rinse the cover to remove any soap residue. Soap residues can attract more dirt and alter the quality of the pool water. - Drying
: Let the cover dry completely in the open air before putting it back on the pool or storing it. It is essential to dry it well to prevent the formation of mold and fungi. - Inspection and repair
: While the cover is drying, examine it for any tears or damage. Small tears can often be repaired with appropriate kits. - Replacement or storage
: Once it’s dry, place the cover back on the pool or, if you’re storing it, fold it carefully and keep it in a cool, dry place.
When to clean a bubble cover?
It is recommended to clean the bubble cover about once a month during the active use season. This helps prevent the accumulation of debris, algae, and dirt.
At the beginning and end of the season, cleaning is necessary. This involves thoroughly cleaning, completely drying, and inspecting the cover for any repairs needed.
In addition, if your pool has been exposed to extreme weather conditions, such as heavy rain or storms, it is advisable to clean the cover shortly after to remove accumulated debris and dirt in order to preserve water quality.
If your pool is surrounded by trees or is heavily used, especially by children, it might be wise to clean the cover more regularly to manage dirt and debris as well as body residues that might accumulate on it.
