Which pool shell robot to choose?
To obtain a complete and efficient cleaning of your shell, it is essential that your cleaning robot has certain characteristics and features.
Select your shell pool robot using 5 criteria:
- Soft brushes for better maintenance of the shell
- Excellent filtration quality to maximize each cleaning cycle
- Adequate cable length for thorough cleaning of the pool
- A robot capable of cleaning the walls, bottom, and waterline
- Various cleaning programs and cycles
Choose a model with brushes suitable for shells
A cleaning robot is equipped with brushes that it uses to dislodge impurities and vacuum them during its program. It is recommended to opt for soft brushes to preserve the GelCoat surface and the finish of the shell.
Hard brushes are generally intended for concrete pools, which have a more resistant coating.
Quality filtration for effective cleaning
The fineness of filtration is crucial for effectively capturing debris, algae, and fine particles present in the water. Along with the duration of the cleaning cycle, navigation, and mobility capacity, choosing a robot with good filtration quality can help you clean your shell optimally.
- 100 microns and more: Cleans your pool while letting some debris pass through.
- 50 to 100 microns: Cleans and eliminates debris and particles.
- Less than 50 microns: Filters and eliminates the majority of debris and particles in its path.
Sufficient cable length according to your shell dimensions
It is wise to choose a shell robot model that is equipped with a float and/or a cable management system. These elements help prevent cable tangling during cleaning. The length of the cable is also essential.
It is essential that the robot’s cable is long enough to reach all corners of the shell pool without pulling it.
Which areas do you want to clean?
When selecting your robot, ensure that it meets your cleaning needs. Depending on the model, a robot can clean different areas of your shell pool: the bottom, the walls, or the waterline. Some models can clean the entire pool while others are limited to one or two areas.
Making the right choice will allow you to select a robot that perfectly matches your expectations.
Obstacle sensors, programs, and intelligence
A robot can be equipped with sensors to avoid obstacles or a navigation system. Sensors are useful to prevent the robot from hitting the pool walls or other objects. An intelligent navigation system allows it to travel through the pool methodically and cover the entire surface without leaving uncleaned areas.
The programs and cleaning cycles available on the shell robot are also very important. The different options, including quick cycles for light maintenance and longer cycles for deep cleaning, will allow you to choose a robot that meets your needs as well as the shape and dimensions of your pool.
