What is the Cost of an Inflatable Spa?
What is the price of an inflatable hot tub? Generally, the cost varies between 300 € for entry-level models and 1500 € for the most advanced models. The majority of spas are priced between 400 € and 700 €, depending on the brands.
Being widely available, it is now possible to find good quality spas at reasonable prices. Nevertheless, it is advisable to avoid the cheapest models or those from lesser-known brands. These often have reliability issues, after-sales service problems, and lack of availability of spare parts.
Bubble Inflatable Spa or Massage Jets Spa
The price of an inflatable hot tub depends on its size, shape, and included technology. There are two main categories on the market:
The bubble inflatable spa, or whirlpool bath, is the most common. Air nozzles arranged around the basin emit thousands of air bubbles to produce a soothing and relaxing whirlpool.
Inflatable spas with massage jets, which are among the high-end models, are more expensive. They have real hydro-massage jets built into the structure, offering a massage sensation for the back. These jet spas often include bubble technology for a total relaxation experience.
Size and Capacity of an Inflatable Spa
The market offers a wide range of capacities for inflatable spas. The most common models are those for 2, 4, and 6 people. Depending on the number of users and the desired comfort level, you can opt for a spa with a different number of seats.
A 2-person inflatable spa offers an appropriate relaxation space for a couple, but it will be much more pleasant for a single person. To maximize comfort, it is advisable to choose a spa with a capacity greater than the number of intended users. For example, for regular use by 4 people (a couple and two children), it’s better to opt for a 6-seat spa.
The larger the capacity of the inflatable spa, the easier and more pleasant it is to lie down in it. This is an essential selection criterion, as nothing is more pleasant than relaxing under the effect of bubbles and heat!
Dimensions
Choosing an Inflatable Spa Based on its Capacity
The Different Shapes of Inflatable Spas – Square, Round, Oval, Octagonal
This criterion is mainly related to aesthetics, but it can also be functional depending on where you plan to install the hot tub. The shape can be determined by the dimensions or layout of the room where it will be placed.
The style of your inflatable spa is a crucial aspect, as it will be visible in your garden or in the room that hosts it. The choice of shape depends mostly on personal preferences. In terms of daily use, there are no significant differences between a square, round, oval, or octagonal inflatable hot tub. Additionally, the shape does not affect the durability of the product.
You will find a vast selection of colors and aesthetic finishes, ranging from leather imitation to crocodile patterns, as well as a multitude of shades. All the models we offer can be installed both indoors and outdoors.
Which Inflatable Spa Brand to Choose?
The number of brands offering inflatable spas is now very significant. The quality of products and after-sales service can vary considerably from one brand to another. A few big names stand out as leaders in the field, such as Intex, Bestway, or Netspa. Opting for a well-established brand ensures the purchase of a quality product, accessible, with easily findable spare parts.
With more than 10 years of experience, we have acquired real expertise in the sector. We primarily focus on two brands known for their good value for money and professionalism:
- Netspa, a French company, offers a range of quality inflatable spas, with a wide choice of shapes and colors, and constant innovation.
- Lay-z-Spa (Bestway), a global player, presents a vast range with excellent value for money.
How to Inflate an Inflatable Spa?
The system is similar for most inflatable spas on the market, having been designed very efficiently. The inflator, or bubble diffuser, is a …
An air pump is responsible for propelling bubbles through the spa jets. This same air pump also serves to automatically inflate the spa during installation, using a small provided hose.
Therefore, it is not necessary to have a manual or electric inflator, as the spa can inflate itself in just a few minutes.
Most inflatable hot tubs are equipped with a pressure gauge to measure pressure and allow you to stop inflation once the ideal pressure is reached.
What is the Noise Level of an Inflatable Spa?
An inflatable spa in operation emits sounds, but it’s important to differentiate between the various sound sources: the filtration motor, the air pump, and the movement of water.
The filtration system is generally quiet. It operates continuously to ensure clean and clear water, even when the spa is not in use, thus ensuring a pleasant experience.
The air pump, responsible for the bubbles, can be a bit louder. Additionally, the movement of water and bubbles generates a slight noise around the spa. Nevertheless, these sounds should not detract from your relaxing experience in the warm water.
What is the Electricity Consumption of an Inflatable Spa?
Most inflatable hot tubs available on the market have similar characteristics, with four main elements that consume electricity:
- The electric heater, which heats the water, uses between 1500 and 2000 W depending on the models.
- The air pump, which produces bubbles, consumes between 600 and 850 W depending on the models.
- The cartridge filtration pump uses between 40 and 60 W depending on the models.
- The control panel, whether quartz or LED, has negligible consumption.
In summary, the maximum theoretical consumption can reach 2 to 3 kW when the spa operates with the air pump. However, in real usage conditions, it is rare to reach this maximum consumption.
The electric heater is the most energy-hungry component. It is therefore advisable to use the provided insulating cover when the spa is not in use, to limit heat loss, keep the water warm longer, and reduce energy consumption. In general, an outdoor spa consumes more energy than an indoor spa, due to thermal losses.
The electrical usage cost of an inflatable spa amounts to approximately €0.95 per day when heated and used.
Can I Fill my Inflatable Spa with Well Water?
It is essential to use water from the public network to fill your spa. We strongly advise against using well water.
When you opt for well water, you have no control over the parameters or composition of the water, such as pH, heavy metals, sulfates, nitrites, nitrates, etc. This can seriously compromise the quality and disinfection of the water.
We therefore strongly suggest using city water. In France, the average price of a cubic meter of water is around €4. Thus, filling a 4-person inflatable spa with about 820 liters will cost you approximately €3.5, while for a 6-person spa, it will represent about €4.6.
Treatment of the inflatable spa
Since the water in your spa is heated, it requires appropriate treatment and disinfection. We advise you to use active oxygen or bromine. These disinfectants are particularly effective because they remain stable in hot water, unlike chlorine. Additionally, they offer great comfort of use: when properly dosed, they do not cause eye irritation and are not harsh on the skin.
