Incredible but true, it is in Japan that you will find the first pool that doesn’t get you wet. No need for a swim cap or a bathing suit. Also, don’t worry about taking a towel for this unique pool experience!
The mystery of the “Swimming Pool”
The “Swimming Pool” is the only one in the world that doesn’t get you wet. However, you will need a plane ticket to live this experience, as it is located in Japan, specifically at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa!
This amazing optical illusion is created by Leandro Erlich, an Argentine artist whose work blends art and visual illusions.
LEANDRO ERLICH: A virtuoso of artistic illusion
Viewed from above, you would think you were looking at a real pool. It is only when approaching the bottom that you realize there is more than meets the eye.
The artist has placed water between the 30 centimeters that separate the two airtight layers of glass made of acrylic, located at the surface of the pool. In reality, only 15 centimeters of water sit on the surface of this pool, which has the power to confuse your senses. And there you have it!
This exhibition is permanent. Don’t forget to stop by if you visit the Land of the Rising Sun.
