Wooden pool: above-ground, semi-inground, or inground installation?

A wooden above-ground pool is versatile and can often be inground, semi-inground or installed above-ground. However, some models must imperatively be installed above-ground. These details are always clearly indicated on our product pages. It is therefore a personal choice that depends on the aesthetics and layout you want for your garden.

Origin of the wood for wooden pools:

Before purchasing a wooden pool, it is essential to check the origin of the wood as well as its treatment. All our pools are made of wood coming either from Northern Europe or from French forests. The wood has systematically undergone a Class IV autoclave treatment, guaranteeing its durability over the years. This treatment means that the wood is resistant to moisture, fungi, and wood-destroying insects.

Wooden swimming pool: what are the administrative procedures?

To build a swimming pool larger than 10 m² (whether it is above ground, semi-inground or inground), it is imperative to file a prior declaration of work with the town hall.

For swimming pools larger than 100 m², a building permit is required.

Also check the Local Urban Plan of your locality. There may be restrictions and urban planning regulations, such as the obligation of a certain color for the liner or a precise distance to be respected between the pool and the boundary of your property.

Which filtration system for a swimming pool?

Concerning wooden pools

The filtration system is a key piece of equipment. There are two types of filtration suitable for above-ground pools:

• The cartridge filtration: less expensive to purchase, this mechanism filters water through a cartridge that must be cleaned regularly and eventually replaced in the long term.
• The sand filtration: this is the classic device used in swimming pools. A tank filled with a filter medium, such as sand or polished glass, takes care of the water filtration mechanically. This type of equipment is more durable and of higher quality. In the long term, it is also more practical and economical, as it does not require consumables.

In general, wooden pools opt for a sand filter, which is more efficient and resistant.
