Counter-current swimming is a fun and athletic activity that can be practiced in all pools equipped with a counter-current swimming system, even small ones. The installation of a counter-current swimming turbine allows both beginners and experienced athletes to practice swimming and train effectively. Thanks to a swimming turbine, there is no more need for boring back-and-forth laps. You now swim infinitely in the same direction.

How does counter-current swimming work?

Counter-current swimming, as its name suggests, is an activity that consists of swimming against a current generated by a pump. This can be compared to running on a treadmill: you engage in physical activity while staying in place. This system is possible thanks to a dedicated pump that sucks water from the basin and rejects it powerfully through a nozzle. The swimmer positions themselves in front of the nozzle to train by swimming against the current.

The different SWIMEO turbine models

The S model for existing pools

The S model features a functional, avant-garde aesthetic. It is intended for existing pools and is easily installed, without renovation work or wall penetration.

It is available in two power ratings to adapt to all swimmer profiles and all desires: from the desire for relaxation to the desire to push yourself and perform.

The X model for construction projects

The X model integrates into a masonry niche and behind a stainless steel grille while offering high-performance hydrodynamics. The grille ensures discreet and elegant integration.

The swimming current exists in 250 m3/h or 400 m3/h to satisfy all swimmers and all swimming desires. It offers unrivaled swimming comfort and swimming sensations just like in a natural environment.

Maintenance and application

Maintaining the submerged turbine

Regardless of the model, the counter-current swimming turbine is positioned facing the skimmers. Highly energy-efficient (50 to 80% less electricity than a traditional pump for a higher flow power), it generates a laminar flow. Thanks to this wide and horizontal current, it improves water circulation in the pool and complements the filtration system.

Our Swimeo models are made of non-corrosive materials. They therefore resist chemical products generally used for water treatment such as salt, chlorine, algaecides, or ozone.
